Accommodations with Mountain Views
Shotover Country Cottages offers spacious chalets with views of the mountains. Each chalet includes air-conditioning, a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, and oven, plus a balcony and private bathroom. Guests appreciate the comfortable king-size bed and the large, open layout. Some units are semi-detached, so you may hear neighbors.
Leisure
From the sun terrace, you can watch planes land at Queenstown Airport (flights run from 7am to 9pm) and enjoy sunset views over the valley. The neighborhood is quiet, with hiking and cycling trails nearby. The Shotover River walk is a short distance away. The cottages are a 10-15 minute drive from central Queenstown and Arrowtown.
Location
The cottages are located 5 km from Queenstown Airport and a 5-10 minute drive to Frankton shopping center. You will need a car to get around - free private parking is provided on-site. The bus stop for routes into Queenstown is a short walk away. The area is popular for visiting wineries in Gibbston and the Kawarau River.
Amenities
Free Wi-Fi is available, though some guests report intermittent connectivity. Each chalet has a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom. Check-in is via a lockbox, and the host communicates by phone or message. No concierge or room service is offered. The property includes facilities for disabled guests (Cottage 4 is accessible).
“The expansive grounds here present a quiet escape with truly remarkable views across Frankton and the surrounding mountains. Inside, the spacious rooms, particularly the comfortable beds and excellent shower facilities, create a genuine home-away-from-home atmosphere, enhanced by practical amenities like laundry machines. It's a smart choice for those prioritizing a peaceful setting with all the conveniences.”
